They fought hard against some of the best wrestlers in Michigan, but unfortunately Oxford’s three grapplers didn’t place in the MHSAA State Wrestling Finals held last week at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Kyle Oliver (215), Kyle Nieporte (152) and Nick Murrary (171) gave it their all at the individual competitions, according to Coach Paul McDevitt, but were ‘not able to pull it out this time.?
Nieporte went 1-2 in his matches, while Murrary went 0-2.
Despite being 1-2 in his matches, Oliver pulled off a ‘pretty big upset? pinning defending state champ Casey Curtis, of DeWitt, in 3:16 during his first match.
