Grapplers manhandle Rochester

The Wildcat grapplers once again proved that they have what it takes both as a team and individually. The team will advance to state finals on Feb. 21 at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek after strong arming Rochester 57-16 and the Clarkston Wolves 45-16 in their team regional dual meet on Feb. 12.
Winners against Clarkston included: Zach Wood (285), Jacob Call (103), Alex Hrisopoulos (112), Collin Campbell (125), Edwin Schlickenmeyer (135), Peter Economou (145), Noah Kinne (152), Wesley Maskill (171) Grant Krause (189) and Ben Line (215).
Winners over Rochester were: Wood (285), Call (103), Hrisopoulos (112), Bailey Kammerer (119), Campbell (125), Vinny Cackaro (135), Schlickenmeyer (140), Economou (145), Kinne (152), Ethan Kerin (160) and Krause (189).
After tough individual regionals on Feb. 15, eight of 12 Wildcat wrestlers will travel to the Palace of Auburn Hills for individual state tournament held Feb. 27 ? March 1.
First place winners were Hrisopoulos (112), Line (215) and Wood (285); second place finisher was Maskill (171); third place finishers were Kinne (160) and Jamal Pettiford (215); fourth place finisher was Wyatt Harden (189).
