Groomed trails open for fat tire biking at Addison Oaks County Park

There isn’t a reason to stop cycling during the winter. Addison Oaks County Park now offers groomed trails for fat tire biking.
Fat tire biking is similar to mountain biking, except fat tire bikes are built on a frame specifically designed to support wide, knobby tires.
These over-sized tires provide a smooth ride, so they fare very well on groomed, snow-covered trail surfaces all season long.
Addison Oaks County Park has 5.6 miles of groomed, multi-use trails available for cyclists, cross-country skiers and hikers as weather conditions permit.
The 6-foot wide trail includes many hills and scenic views. It winds through the park and loops cyclists back to their original starting point.
Trail maps are available at the contact station and at the concession building. Signage helps direct cyclists along the designated trail route.
Fat tire biking is an activity that continues to grow in popularity and is a great way to stay active outdoors in the colder months.
Addison Oaks County Park had such an excellent response to a fat tire bike race last year that this event is scheduled to return once again in February.
Trail hours are a half hour before sunrise to a half hour after sunset. A Daily or Annual Vehicle Park Pass is required for entry. Addison Oaks County Park is located at 1480 West Romeo Road in Leonard.
