Groveland Twp. — On Monday, the Groveland Township Board of Trustees recognized three individuals who completed training related to their positions with the township.
“The people we have here at Groveland Township are not just doing the job,” said Bob DePalma, township supervisor. “These classes are not mandatory, rather they are going over and above trying to stay up on what’s current in the environment for municipal government and doing the job the right way.”
Theresa Bills, township treasurer and Jenell Keller, deputy clerk/elections administrator/building department assistant both completed the Michigan Townships Association’s Township Governance Academy earlier this year. The program provides township boards and leaders new ideas, best practices in township government. The coursework includes: foundations, boardmanship and electives.
In addition, Danielle Willcock, who serves in the township building, planning department completed the Michigan State University Extension on Master Citizen Planner.
