PFC Matthew D. Haag, of Clarkston, recently completed his advanced training as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle Maintenance Engineer at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
PFC Haag received the Distinguished Honor Graduate award, which is given to the student that has demonstrated academic scholarship, leadership and physical readiness superior to that of his peers. Only one soldier per class receives the honor.
PFC Haag also received the Soldier of Steel Award for achieving the highest score on the Army Physical Fitness Test. He also attained the Excellence in Maintenance distinction, a program designed to better prepare and provide more technically proficient soldiers to the field.
PFC Haag gave the commencement speech at graduation and presented his unit’s appreciation award to SSG D.R. Lilly. Haag is a 2004 graduate of Clarkston High School.
