The Visiting Nurses and Independence Township Senior Center will hold a Flu Shot Clinic Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. until noon at the First Congressional Church, 5449 Clarkston Road.
Medicare Part B, HAP, and Care Choices plans are accepted, with a non-Medicare cost of $24 per person.
Independence Township Senior Center is also offering a variety of preventative health screenings that will allow residents to determine and reduce the risk of stroke and heart disease.
Six different tests are available, including carotid artery, abdominal aorta, leg circulation, echocardiogram, full lipid blood cholesterol, and electrocardiogram.
The screenings are non-invasive, painless and take about 10 minutes each, with immediate results in writing. Fees vary between $40 and $80 per test.
The event will take place Oct. 14 at the Carriage House in Clintonwood Park.
