This holiday season take a break from the overcrowded, tacky malls and congested roads and journey back to a time when Christmas was simple, yet magical.
Now through mid-January, the Northeast Oakland Historical Museum (1 N. Washington St.) in downtown Oxford has a wonderful holiday display featuring vintage Christmas ornaments, timeless toys, festive nutcrackers and a hand-painted Nativity scene from the early 1900s.
The museum will be open from 5-9 p.m. during the Dec. 6 Soup & Sweet Stroll and from 12-4 p.m. Dec. 7 before, during and after the Christmas parade.
Normal winter hours are 1-4 p.m. every Thursday and Saturday and on the first Sunday of the month.
