The Clarkston Community Historical Society is presenting an evening with local history teller Maureen Esther. Esther will present a lecture on Abraham Lincoln to commemorate his 200th birthday.
‘This program continues our mission to bring history to life for the members of our community,? said CCHS President Jennifer Arkwright.
While most Americans know Lincoln as the Illinois-born president whose presidency was consumed by the Civil War, ‘few people realize the true depth of his influence and his accomplishments under extraordinary circumstances,? said Esther. ‘There are more biographies on Lincoln than any other former president, but in my presentation I try to capture the human sides of him and his family.?
The program is designed to appeal to adults and school children alike. Admission for CCHS members is free; entry for all others is $1 at the door. Refreshments will be served. For more information, please call the CCHS at 248-922-0270.
