Atlas Twp. — The Goodrich/Atlas Township community delivered this holiday season once again.
On Dec. 16, the annual community food drive was completed and distributed at the Goodrich Lions Club, 9196 S. State Road. In total 35 area families in need had a brighter holiday season thanks the efforts of many.
The collection, which began in October included the Goodrich Lions Club, Boy Scout Troop 340, the Goodrich Schools District, area businesses, along with hundreds of individuals rallied for 150 boxes of canned and non-perishable food items, along with fruit bags and gift cards at Bueche’s Food World.
While all for a good cause, the Village of Goodrich edged out Atlas Township in a friendly can collection competition. In addition, Reid Elementary School provided significant donations to the community project.
