Ballard, Jerry Allen, 79 of Wesley Chapel, Florida. Passed away on April 7, 2021.
He was born on November 18, 1941 in Flint, Michigan to the late Robert Kyle and Ollie (nee: Kitchen) Ballard. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of over 55 years, Sandy; two daughters, Jill (Ron) Walls and Julie (Pua) Yong; two brothers, Bob Ballard and Tom (Julie) Ballard; five grandchildren, Ashlyn (Travis) Turner, Kenzie (Alex) Turner, Connor Walls, Kyle Yong and Makena Yong. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Nolan Turner and Quinn Turner. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Ballard. Jerry was a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp. during Vietnam. He was an electrician for General Motors and also employed by the IBEW Union of which he was a long-time member. Jerry worked for the railroad in Michigan and helped to lay the Alaskan Pipeline as well as Raymond James Stadium. He moved to Florida in 1990 from Grand Blanc, Michigan. He was also a member of Crosspointe Church in Lutz, ran the Disney Marathon of 26 miles at the age of 52, liked to walk with his wife, enjoyed going to amusements parks and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Seymour Lake United Methodist Church 3050 S. Sashabaw Road, Oxford, Michigan. Pastor Janine Plum, officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the church. Interment with military honors will immediately follow at Seymour Lake Cemetery.
