Joanne M. Taylor of Goodrich died June 24, 2016 at the Oaks at Woodfield, Grand Blanc.
She was 84.
Joanne was born Sept. 3, 1931 in Pontiac, the daughter of the late Lewis and Isabella (Buchkowski) Swartz. She resided in the Goodrich area the last 52 years. She was joined in marriage to Irving S. “Buster” Taylor on May 14, 1960 in Pontiac and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2013.
Joanne was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Davison, was a graduate of Siena Heights College and worked as a medical technician in Pontiac. Joanne’s first priority was her family. She also loved her yard, home, music, all sports, bingo, reading and traveling.
She leaves her children, Joyce and Chris Burkland of Almont, Barb Hearne of Spring, Texas, Craig and Suzanne Taylor of Goodrich, Joan Taylor of Goodrich, and Chris and Patricia Taylor of Atlanta, Ga. She also leaves her grandchildren, Brian, Marie, David, Jeremy, Sean, Alicia (Mike), Chase, Jessica, and Rebecca; her sisters, Mary Stuk and Elaine Green; and a host of other relatives. Joanne was preceded in death by her brother, Luzerne Swartz.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m., Friday, July 15, at Hansen Funeral Home, Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. Family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. until time of service. Contributions may be made in Joanne’s memory to St. John Catholic Church or the Residential Hospice Foundation.
