Dear editor,
I would like to thank Judge Lisa Asadoorian for, once again, graciously offering her time to speak to our parents and community members about the harsh realities that too often occur in our community.
Judge Asadoorian has spoken annually in our community for the last 10 years.
Each year the crowd increases: this year we had over 180 community members that attended on Thursday evening.
The information and personal observations that Judge Asadoorian shares apply to children and parents of all ages.
Community members are neither too young nor too old to learn from her powerful message. Statistically, youth are involved in at-risk behaviors as early as elementary age.
Coupled with modern technology, youth suffer more exposure to negative behaviors than just a few short years ago.
Judge Asadoorian delivers a personable, down to earth and real message to our families.
She truly cares about our community and our youth. Quite often, you will see Judge Asadoorian at a Lake Orion football game, in her Pjs at a local elementary school reading to kindergartens, and even guest speaking at a Lake Orion Community Schools Blue Ribbon ceremony.
Her appearances are not isolated to just election years; Judge Asadoorian has proven to be a constant presence in Dragon Country for the last decade simply because her efforts are genuine.
If you have not had a past opportunity to see Judge Asadoorian’s presentation, then you must attend in January 2011.
If you have already heard her speak, then you know the importance of spreading the word with hopes of getting 280 or more community members next year!
Judge Asadoorian shares new information each and every year that every community member needs to hear.
In addition, please get involved with The North Oakland Community Coalition, which promotes a sense of belonging in a healthy environment free of alcohol and substance abuse by uniting community members and developing community strengths for all.

Thank you,
