On March 1, members of the Oxford-Orion Kiwanis Club spent the evening at Kalloway’s Restaurant and Pub taking orders, serving meals, pouring beverages and clearing tables.
The Kiwanians were picking up a little extra cash to benefit local charities, youth programs, families and their own scholarship fund.
Club members earned $730 in tips and donations plus another $328 in proceeds from a special Kiwanis dinner menu that included appetizer, four entrees, dessert and two adult beverages.
Kalloway’s donated $4 to the Oxford-Orion Kiwanis Club for each item customers ordered off the special menu.
The Number One seller from the Kiwanis menu was ‘George’s Sliced Roast Beef? covered with gravy and served with mashed potatoes and vegetable. The dish is named for Kiwanis Club President George Del Vigna.
