Lake Orion Sureguard Roofing & Maintenance is installing more than adequate roofing this winter.
Owner Anthony Saferian is reaching out to the community his business has been supporting for the last 30 years in an effort to make the holidays a bit brighter.
It is him and his son Dillon’s goal to find at least one Lake Orion family to don with Christmas cheer this year.
The Saferians are asking the community to help locate a family in need, and will help pay for a Christmas dinner, presents to go under the tree, and even a tree if it is needed.
In the past few years Saferian has been in good health and good wealth with his business, having paid off several debts, and now wants to share his good fortune.
A recommended family will need at least five references to vouch for them, Saferian said, but once he finds the right family, through an interview process, he will go forth with the project.
‘It’s basically everything to allow them to have a good day,? he said. ‘I think the parents will be happy, or feel a relief, if they know their kids are getting something, and they don’t feel that struggle. I think it will make for a good day for the family.?
It is important to Saferian that recommended families have children, he said, because he wants to create the excitement all young kids should feel on Christmas.
After selecting one or more families, Saferian will do a bit of investigating to find out what each of the kids wants for Christmas. Mom and Dad won’t be forgotten either. Saferian will figure out what they need the most this Christmas, whether it’s a night out at a fine restaurant, babysitter included, or gift card to a store of their choice.
No one will go hungry Christmas night either. Whether it’s a voucher for a turkey or ham from a local business, or a gift card to a grocery store, bellies will be filled.
‘The whole goal is to make them feel like it’s their Christmas,? he said.
‘Everybody is in need one time, it doesn’t matter how high you are on the scale, things happen and you might not be able to take care of your family. I’ve been through struggles in my life so I know. Sometimes it would be nice to have that help.?
