Thanking the township for their continued support of the Lake Orion music programs’and especially the bands’band members and Director Mike Steele did a bit of beautifying at the Wildwood Amphitheatre grounds last week, in preparation for a special concert July 9.
Music programs include the sit down band, marching band and winter percussion, and even a middle school band came out to volunteer at the amphitheatre.
Weeding, mulching, and cleaning up the area, band members were helping to prepare for their concert ‘Starry Night? on Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m.
The community is welcomed to the event, free of charge, and is encouraged to bring a blanket and enjoy the music provided by the high school bands.
The bands are very grateful for all the township has done for them. Most recently the township proclaimed May 7, 2015 as Lake Orion Percussion Day, honoring the Lake Orion Winter Percussion group for their first place finish at worlds earlier this year.
The township has also offered the Wildwood Amphitheater up for several fundraisers hosted by the bands, including the Grimm & Wilde last Halloween, and the bands hope to continue their partnership.
