It’s always a good day when you can beat your rival.
Lake Orion’s varsity hockey team did a good job of stopping Clarkston on Saturday at the Detroit Skating Club, topping the Wolves, 5-2.
The teams traded a couple of goals each in the first period but after that it was all Dragons.
Andrew Defauw led the way for Lake Orion, scoring two goals and notching two assists. Benjamin Bock gave the Dragons the lead in the second period, 3-2.
Ryan Szydlowski doubled up on Clarkston, 4-2, with a goal late in the second period. Joseph Briskey also netted a goal for LO.
Matthew Gronowski added two assists.
The win improves the Dragons record to 10-11-3 and they are 5-4-2 in the OAA Red, which is good for third place.
The Dragons play thier final regular season game on Friday against Rochester United at the Onyx in Rochester.
