For the last ten years locals have frequented the ex-Lake Orion Applebee’s, which officially closed on June 29 at 10 p.m.
‘This was one of our restaurants that was not producing a lot of revenue, so it didn’t? make economic sense to keep it open,? Barb Pasicak, spokeswomen for Applebee’s in Lake Orion, said.
All but four employees were placed at the three closest Applebee’s, one in Lapeer, and the other two located on Brown Rd. and Squirrel Rd. in Auburn Hills.
An online auction was held July 8 for fixtures and memorabilia from the store, which was stripped when the store closed.
Forgotten Harvest food bank will receive all proceeds from the auction.
TSFR Apple Venture, which closed the Lake Orion location, owns 65 of the 87 Applebee’s scattered throughout Michigan. One other company owns the rest.
