Dear editor,
Thanks to so many generous area businesses and residents, the second Annual Harvest Dash for Recovery held at the Scripps Mansion on Sunday, Sept. 26 was another successful event.
We increased our overall runner base and improved our route to include even more of the Polly Ann Trail.
We would like to extend a very special thanks to our participants who made the choice to join us on event day.
With so many other obligations and competing events we really felt honored to have all of you with us that morning, joining us to raise money for such a worthwhile event.
Today, Institute staff are involved in a great deal of activity, providing education to Church leadership and other interested groups about the realities of chemically-related addictions, such as alcoholism, and the realities of sobriety and recovery.
Woven throughout our presentations is the spiritual aspect related to addictions, sobriety and recovery. The Harvest Dash Race will help us to ensure that these programs continue to develop.
The Harvest Dash Race for Recovery was made possible by many members of our community who served as sponsors of funds and in-kind donations: HealthQuest Physical Therapy, Dr. John D. Arsen, Sherman Publications, Tool Sport and Sign Co., Taco Bell of Lake Orion, Milosch’s Palace, Golling Buick GMC, Somerset Collection, The Village Trophy Shop, Harvest Time Farm Market, William R. Mason Jeweler, Great Lakes Athletic Club, Turner Sanitation, Culvers of Lake Orion, PNC Bank and Whole Foods Market. Thank you so much for your generous support!
Many thanks also to the Sheriff’s Department for ensuring the safety of our participants when crossing over Joslyn Road and for our many volunteers who helped in so many ways to make everything go so smoothly.
The day was a definite success and we look forward to growing it even more from year to year. Thank you everyone!
