Letter to EditorCriticism for library, village

For the second time this year, the majority has voted ‘no? on the library millage.
I, for one, say enough!
Stop trying to push this millage through.
Last I saw, the library renovated parts of it that looked fine before.
If the library had such hardships, then the folks in charge should have spent our money on necessities.
The village is taxed heavily enough without adding more.
For example, we pay both village and township taxes. Ridiculous. You live in the village, pay village taxes and if you live in the township, pay township taxes.
No double dipping!
Oxford water rates are a shame.
Their ‘own? water faciliy is not what people think. I’ve heard state of the art. I for one don’t buy it and if anyone does look at your water bill.
We automatically get charged a water operator fee for someone leisurely checking a computerized system.
I knew the guy that ran the water station on S. Glaspie St.
He worked for the DPW and people in charge put him out of a job for an outside company to take over with technology that will always need to be updated or replaced.
I’ve lived here 12 years and have seen little business growth.
Oxford does not promote business growth but has a false sense of entitlement.
Personally, I think the village manager should be fired!
Oxford should have better checks and balances and by that, accountability. People should decide who’s the community’s person in charge such as a mayor.
