Letter to the editor – Conversation on Education’s Future

On March 13, Michigan Citizens Advocating for Public Education (MI-CAPE) and Lake Orion Community Schools Involved Citizens (LOCSIC) will host a Lake Orion Community Conversation on Education? Future.
In partnership with the Center for Michigan, a nonprofit and nonpartisan ‘think-and-do? tank located in Ann Arbor, we will convene for a 90-minute discussion focused on Michigan’s preK-12 education system.
Topics to be discussed: Teacher and school leadership quality; Ideas for improved learning; Educational support, Online learning; Teacher accountability; Early childhood programs; Class size; Family and community involvement.
Although no RSVP is necessary, citizens are encouraged to arrive early to ensure participation. Only 40-50 participants can be officially accommodated and provided with clickers for voting and discussion. More are welcome, but participation may be limited.
