Dear editor,
On behalf of the Election Commission and myself, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who assisted with the August 3, 2010 Primary Election.
Lake Orion Schools, the Township Library, as well as many local churches provided outstanding community support by hosting a precinct and we are truly grateful for their generosity.
Special recognition is extended to my staff and Election Inspectors who worked so diligently to ensure that every vote was counted. We express sincere gratitude to Orion Township Fire Marshall, Bob Smith and the Parks and Recreation Department for providing emergency power for two precincts; with special merit given to the Oakland County Sherriff’s Department for their continued support.
Something wonderful happens when people come together and share a common goal and this election was marked by the unified effort put forth by everyone in our community.
