I would like to start off by saying my prayers go out to all those affected by the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
Out of respect, I have kept my political opinions to myself much like the National Rifle Association (NRA) did for the following week and unlike the current White House administration.
Within hours I heard the disgraceful yet predictable politicizing of this tragedy from the liberal crowd. Then, days later, actress Marg Helgenberger hoping NRA members get shot while others agreed. Nice!
I do not agree with Governor Rick Snyder’s decision on the expanded carry bill.
Anyone who actually has a CPL knows the tremendous responsibility that comes with it. If you believe going into a school while carrying if allowed by law is a bad idea, then you should seriously reconsider your decision to have a CPL.
If for some reason you wouldn’t trust yourself in a particular environment where legal, you should not be carrying.
I have yet to meet anybody who has their license that I would call a ‘cowboy? or ‘gunslinger.? Those are words the anti-self defense crowd loves to use.
I would also have no problem with an armed police officer in every school as has been proposed by the NRA.
It is not that hard to figure out more restrictive laws are not going to stop evil.
The name Anders Breivik comes to mind as well as Adam Lanza and unfortunately a long list of others including Andrew Kehoe (the worst school massacre and no gun used by the way).
