Dear editor,
Thank you to all the parents, teachers, administrators, local businesses and Lake Orion residents who participated in the 5th Annual Lake Orion Education Foundation’s Evening for Education this past Saturday at Canterbury Castle.
The evening was a celebration of all that is great about our special community. Friends and neighbors gathered to raise crucial funds to help provide additional educational programs for all students in the district, and to say the night was a success is an understatement.
PNC Bank again demonstrated their commitment to education in this community through their generous sponsorship.
Every school participated with generous gift baskets, and the entertainment included stunning performances from the LOHS Sax Quartet, Brass Quartet, members of the LOHS Thespian Society who skillfully reenacted scenes from Romeo and Juliet, and LOHS Senior Jordan Reynolds, who delivered a beautiful vocal performance of several operatic and musical numbers.
Additionally, we were thrilled to hear from former Detroit Lions great, current VP at Blue Cross Blue Shied and LOHS parent Ken Dallafior, who humorously entertained the crowd with NFL stories and valuable healthcare information.
The Full Tilt Band provided the icing on the cake and had participants dancing the rest of the night away.
Lake Orion is a magnificent community. We all have a lot to be thankful for as the holiday season approaches, and the outpouring of support from the community for the Lake Orion Education Foundation reinforced to me that I am especially thankful to be part of Lake Orion!
Sincerely,
Matt Phillips
