Friday was a field of dreams for members of the Oxford Jr. Wildcats and the Detroit Cobras.
The two youth football teams attended a Detroit Lions? practice at the pro team’s headquarters in Allen Park.
The pint-sized players escorted the Lions onto the field, watched the two-hour practice, then got autographs from several of them.
It was a great experience for the Jr. Wildcats to meet the Cobras and see firsthand who their generosity was benefiting.
The Cats donated 120 shoulder pads to the Detroit team after all of their football equipment was stolen over the winter.
The pads fit the Cobras? Class C (ages 7-8) and Class D (ages 9-10) teams perfectly.
Who knows?
Someday some of those Wildcats and Cobras could play together (or against each other) at Ford Field.
