LO Relay for Life starts Saturday at Waldon

The Lake Orion Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, will take place this Sat. and Sun., May 20-21, at Waldon Middle School.
The Relay for Life kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and finishes up at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
This fun-filled overnight event is designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society save lives, and help those who have been touched by cancer.
Funds raised will also be used to empower individuals to fight back against this disease.
Teams have been gathering pledges, and during the event they will take turns walking or running laps. Each team keeps at least one team member on the track at all times.
The relay is also a time to remember those lost to cancer, and celebrate those who survived with a Survivor’s Victory Lap.
The Lake Orion relay hopes to honor more than 80 survivors with a Victory Lap, and has 35 teams registered for the event, including many students and staff from the school district.
