Jason Setla of Independence Township was among citizen heroes from around Oakland County receiving awards from Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard during National Police Week Recognition presentation, May 18.
Setla was honored for helping in the rescue of a girl found at the bottom of a swimming pool, July 11, 2010.
“It was really fast ? there wasn’t time for a lot of thought,” Setla said. “She’s doing very well. This is neat, to be honored this way. Very humbling.”
Also, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office presented awards to six deputies, investigators, and employees for outstanding service.
