An Independence Township resident with a history of heart problems died on Jan. 22 after he went out to shovel snow from the weekend’s winter storm.
Frederick Puskas, 69, was pronounced dead at POH-Clarkston Medical Center at 10:28 a.m. despite rescue efforts by Independence Township Fire Department paramedics.
According to Oakland County Sheriff reports, Puskas went out to shovel snow at his Wedgewood home sometime after 9 a.m. A short time later, his wife discovered him lying unconscious on the garage floor.
In addition to heart problems, the victim also previously suffered a stroke, reports said.
