LOHS girls? varsity lacrosse honored to host playoffs

At the end of May, Lake Orion girls? varsity lacrosse will be hosting the MHSAA Region 4, Division 1 playoffs.
All five of the games will be played at Lake Orion High School.
‘The competing teams will have fans there, and it will be a great opportunity for folks in Lake Orion to see girls? high school lacrosse in playoff competition,? Coach Bill Booth said. ‘This is an honor and gives great exposure to our community, our school, and our lacrosse program.?
The first game is on Thursday, May 21 at 5pm, in which Lake Orion will play against Grand Blanc. At 7pm, Huron Valley/Lakeland will play against Clarkston.
On Tuesday, May 26 at 5pm, Waterford United will play against the winner in the Huron Valley vs. Clarkston game. At 7pm, Stony Creek/Adams will play against either Lake Orion or Grand Blanc.
On Friday, May 29, regional finals will be held for the winners of Tuesday’s games.
This week, the Lady Dragons varsity lost their game on Wednesday, May 6 against Bloomfield Lahser 15-9.
Sarah Woodruff filled in for an injured Lindsay Butterfield, saving 11 Lahser shots on goals.
On Friday night, the Lake Dragons hosted Lakeland/Huron Valley.
The Dragons Varsity game started after a long delay. Booth called the game ‘thrilling to watch? despite the girls? loss.
Lakeland was an MHSAA state semifinalist in 2008, and Booth said that the close and compelling game proved that the Lake Orion girls have come a long way in less than two years.
