On Aug. 30, the Village of Lake Orion was issued a permit to lower the lake level of Lake Orion effective Sept. 5, 2007. The lake level will be lowered a total of 36 inches from the ordinary high watermark elevation.
To give residents an opportunity to remove their boats and other water craft, the actual lowering will begin on Monday, Sept. 17.
The lake will be lowered an inch or two a day.
Refilling will commence on or before Nov. 1.
