The traffic light installed at the intersection of M-15 and East Hegel Road during bridge construction will be operating as a yellow flash caution light to conduct a traffic study sometime soon. Michael Hemmingsen, transportation service center manager for MDOT, said the Lansing Signals Unit will conduct the study and are in the middle of working out the logistics. After analyzing the statistics to determine if the light meets with MDOT criteria, it be will determined whether the light stays operational or is removed.
