On Sept. 2, police arrested a 25-year-old Clarkston male after he allegedly pointed a shotgun at several people, including himself.
Police were dispatched to Green Lake Apartments on Parview Drive shortly after midnight and found the man sitting in a chair unarmed in front of an apartment. An unidentified youth was at his side. Both were ordered to the ground at gunpoint.
The suspect initially gave officers a false name, but was recognized from previous encounters with police.
Witnesses said the man pointed the gun at the youth who was there attempting to go to a friend’s apartment. Several witnesses also stated they could hear the trigger being pulled as the man walked through the complex pointing it at several people.
The youth said the suspect ran and put the gun away when police arrived. The gun was recovered from the man’s bedroom and was not loaded.
The suspect was arrested for felonious assault, felony possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and providing false information to police. PBT results were .159
