The Martians concluded their regular season with a 59-14 win against Durand in their regular season finale Tuesday, Nov. 7. Kortni Elsworth scored 23 points, connecting on four three-pointers in the process, to lead the Martians.
Ashley Short added eight points for the Martians, who finished the regular season at 18-2 overall and 16-1 in the Genesee Area Conference Red Division, winning the league title.
Goodrich led the Railroaders 24-6 after their first quarter on their way to the victory.
The Martians now await their district opponent, which will be determined Monday, Nov. 13, when Capac is scheduled to take on Armada in predistrict action at Richmond. The winner of that game is scheduled to take on the Martians at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15.
In the other predistrict game Nov. 13 at Richmond, Imlay City is scheduled to take on the host Blue Devils, with the winner scheduled to take on Almont at approximately 8 p.m. Nov. 15. The district championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17.
