Corunna — On Sept. 4 the Goodrich Cross Country teams traveled to Corunna for the first of three Flint Metro League meets. Both Martian Girls and Boys teams won the 12-team meet.
GHS Junior Vincent Pattison topped the 89 varsity athletes with a time of 16:07.
“Vincent continues to run very consistently during the early stages of the season, including his Benzie time of 15:53 a week ago,” said Head Coach Al Warden.
Second for GHS Senior Trevor Gutterridge, 18:42; third for GHS Soph. Jameson Ronzello 18:43; fourth for GHS was Senior Cole Winter 18:55 who just returned from an illness; fifth for GHS was Junior Gavin Ottinger 19:41; sixth for GHS was Junior was Timmy Stull 21.19.
For the Lady Martians Senior Layla Jordan topped the field of 85 with a time of 19:31. Second for GHS and second overall was Soph. Alivia Ottinger 19:40; third for GHS and third overall was Senior Kamryn Lauinger 19:51; fourth for GHS and fourth overall was Freshmen Kayla Shellenbarger 20:01; fifth for GHS and seventh overall was Senior Avery Byrne 20:13; sixth for GHS and eighth overall was Soph. Claire Brown 20:15; seventh for GHS and ninth overall was Soph. Baylor Lauinger 20:33;eighth for GHS and 19th overall was Soph. Grace Mahaffy 21:47; nineth for GHS and 24th overall was Junior Isabella Dunn 22:12 tenth for GHS and 32nd overall Maddeline Dunn 22:44.
