Paramedics from the Oxford Fire Department treated and transported a 53-year-old Utica man who was shot in the face while driving south through Metamora Township Sunday night.
According to a press release issued by Metamora Police, the shooting occurred on S. Lapeer Rd. (M-24) near Brocker Rd. around 9:44 p.m.
The victim was driving a 1989 Dodge pickup truck. The suspect was described as driving a white Sport Utility Vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet.
An initial investigation done by police indicated there may have been some type of road rage incident that took place between the victim and assailant.
According to Metamora Police, the victim drove himself to the Oakland County Sheriff’s substation located at 2121 N. Lapeer Rd. where he received emergency medical attention.
Oxford paramedics transported the victim to POH Regional Medical Center in Pontiac. He was last reported to be in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the facial area.
