Micah John Giralte, age 38, of St. Petersburg, Flordia went to be with the Lord on 8/15/19. He was born to Holly and Yvan Giralte on 3/17/81 and he always enjoyed being a St. Patrick’s Day baby.
Micah was a 1999 Brandon graduate, and joined the US Marine Corps in March 2000. He was a member of Fast Company which located him all over the US. He served in Dijibouti, Cuba, Bahrain, the Philippines, S. Korea and Japan. He was in the first strike force in Iraq in 2003. He earned recognition as a sharp shooter. Micah was awarded the Joint Service Achievement Medal for Leadership, Certificate of Commendation under Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines. He received a personal letter of thanks from the US ambassador to the Philippines.
Micah transitioned from the Marines to working within the hotel industry. His preference for sun and sea brought him to St. Petersburg, Flordia. The last six years he loved his job as manager at the St. Pete Yacht Club.
He loved all sports and was an avid U of M fan. He was a loyal friend, a faithful worker, a generous man, and he was happy. Micah knew that he has eternal life through the grace of Christ.
Micah is survived by his daughter, Maddie, his girlfriend, Meghan, his parents, Holly and Yvan, his brother, Christian (Loren), his grandmothers, Colette and Sheila and uncles, aunts and cousins.
A celebration of life is planned for 9/14/19 from 3-7 p.m. at OT farms 4789 Fox Lake Road, Ortonville.
