Monastic church dedicated

Prayers were offered, hymns were sung and incense was burned as St. Augustine’s new church in Addison Township was formally dedicated Monday morning.
Although the church’s been in use since June 2001, it was never dedicated because there was still much work to be done on the interior and a large construction debt to pay.
But thanks to the gifts and labors of many supporters, the new church was finally able to be dedicated by Bishop Aubrey Bougher, of the International Lutheran Fellowship.
Founded by the late Father Arthur Kreinheder in 1958, St. Augustine’s House is the only Lutheran monastery in North America.
A Lutheran worship service is held in the church at 10 a.m. every Sunday and the public is more than welcome to attend.
St. Augustine’s is located at 3316 E. Drahner Rd. between Barr and Hosner roads, 2? miles east of M-24. For more info visit www.staugustineshouse.org.
