Brandon Twp.- Sgt. Michael Searing, the new Brandon substation commander, was expected to begin work today.
‘I’m excited,? said Searing, 55. ‘My wife and I like the small town. I’ve always had a more urban area (beat). This will be the most rural area I’ve had.?
Searing has been with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office for 28 years. His work has included 13 years with the special response team, seven years in alcohol enforcement, five years with the narcotics unit, and five years running the Oakland County Parks unit.
His most recent position was as the day shift traffic sergeant, which his Brandon predecessor, Sgt. Tim McIsaac, will now take over.
Searing, who is married to Debra and has four grown children, is looking forward to spending time on school safety, site security, disaster recovery and infrastructure work in his new position.
‘I want to keep the community running healthy and safe,? he said.
