The downtown Max Broock building just got a new top.
Workers with Clarkston Roofing replaced the roof on the 97-year-old Garter Building at 27 S. Main Street.
According to information collected by Independence Township Library, the
building was built in 1910 and 1911 of local ‘rusticated? concrete block.
Original owner was Henry L. Garter, who ran a hardware store there.
