The Oxford Village Planning Commission last week did not approve the use of a private home as a guest house for foreign visitors associated with the school district’s international program.
That’s because the owner, Brooksie Pollack, withdrew her request for special land use approval.
Village Manager Joe Young explained the planning commission’s approval is not necessary because Pollack is not planning to operate a bed and breakfast as the municipality originally advertised in its public notice.
Pollack does not plan to serve breakfast to guests at her 9 Hudson St. home nor does she plan to open it up to the general public.
Her business, which will be called the Oxford Guest House, will provide lodging for visiting parents of foreign exchange students attending Oxford Schools and other individuals associated with the district’s international program.
Two bedrooms will be available for guest use. The house was built in 1900.
