The North Oakland Concert Band, conducted by Annette Kline, will be opening their 29th season on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m. at the Lake Orion High School Performing Arts Center.?
They will be joined in this free concert by the Genesee Wind Symphony and their conductor,’Bruce Nieuwenhuis.
The musical program will include several selections performed by each band.’The 80-member North Oakland Concert Band and 45-member Genesee Wind Symphony will also combine to perform two pieces.?
The selections will cover a variety of musical genres, ranging from a transcription of the classic ‘William Tell Overture? to ‘Harry Potter Symphonic Suite.? And, of course, there will be at least one march on the program.
Led by Annette Kline, music director and conductor, the North Oakland Concert Band is one of the premier community bands in the Midwest.’This year’s schedule will be the most demanding yet, with a total of 10 concerts planned. Five of these concerts will be local and open to the general public, two are community service events and three will be on the road.?
