Secondary teachers, grades 6-12, can be nominated this year for Teacher of the Year. Clarkston Foundation for Public Education, in partnership with the Suburban Collection, accepts nominations through Monday, May 4.
Nominate teachers who create love of learning in students of all abilities and backgrounds, have a strong sense of values, integrity, and professional ethics, and work with students, parents, colleagues, school administration and community to enhance students? educational experience.
Nominees must be contracted teachers with a minimum of two years of teaching experience, currently teaching in the Clarkston school district. Winning teacher will be announced the first week of June and receive free use of a car from Suburban Collection of Waterford for one year. Nomination forms are available at www.clarkston.k12.mi.us or from school offices throughout the district.
The foundation sponsors the program, in its 16th year, to honor outstanding educators in Clarkston Community Schools.

Nominate teacher of the year
The Clarkston Foundation for Public Education is accepting nominations through Monday, May 5, for 2007-2008 ‘Teacher of the Year.?
This year, the award will honor ‘Teachers in a Specialty Area,? including art, music, reading, math, physical education, health, media specialists, special education, and English as a Second Language. Nominees must be contracted teachers with at least two years teaching experience, and must be currently teaching in the Clarkston school district.
According to eligibility requirements, nominees should create a love of learning in all students, have strong values, integrity and professional ethics, and work well with students, parents, colleagues, administration and community to enhance educational experiences.
The winning teacher, announced by May 30, will receive free use of a car from Suburban Collection of Waterford for a year.
Nomination forms are available on the school website, www.clarkston.k12.mi.us, and at any district school and Clarkston State Bank.
This is the 15th year the foundation has sponsored this program. Last year, it honored elementary teachers, and next year’s is set to honor those teaching at the secondary level.
