Office Max employee admits to stealing

admits to stealing
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of embezzlement at Office Max on Baldwin Road on Feb. 4.
According to an OCSD report, the store’s loss prevention manager said the suspect, a 25-year-old Oxford man, had admitted to stealing prior to the deputy’s arrival. The man had given a written statement and the manager had copies of receipts the man was suspected of using.
The man was suspected of embezzlement on 13 different occasions. The manager said the man had a person come into the store and buy merchandise, then leave the receipt at the checkout. The man would then use the receipt to return the purchased items.
The items were never actually returned, and the manager said he had them in his vehicle and would keep them as evidence.
The man admitted he had been stealing since August 2003.
