OHS choirs to present 1950s dinner concert

The 118 members of the Oxford High School Choirs will be rockin? out the end of the year with a retro style 50’s Flashback themed concert on Thursday, May 21.
The concert will feature music from the 50’s presented by the Oxford High School Men’s Choir, Concert Choir and advanced ensemble Caritas.
The 50’s concert will feature hits such as Johnny B. Goode, Lollipop, Hound Dog, Mr. Sandman, Blue Moon, Sh-Boom and many more upbeat songs from this great decade. Guests of all ages will enjoy this exciting concert presented by the award winning Oxford Choirs.
Preceding the 7 p.m. concert will be a 50’s style diner themed dinner in the High School Performing Arts Lobby. Guests may arrive for the dinner anytime between 5:00 and 6:30 PM . This dinner will feature burger baskets, hot dog baskets, crinkle fries and root beer floats – all served by choir members decked out in 50’s outfits. The dinner is a fundraiser for the choirs with the baskets priced at $5 and root beer floats at $2. Tips will be collected at the event to support the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Guests may enjoy both the dinner and the concert or just arrive for the free concert at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. As patrons arrive at the High School Performing Arts Center they will be able to enjoy vintage 50’s automobiles on display.
The Oxford High School Art Department will also be featuring their Spring Art Show between 5:00 and 7:00 PM for guests to enjoy.
