Kudos to the Oxford High School Drama Club for a smashing job on its 2nd annual Dessert Theater on Sunday. The event consisted of three one-act plays, two of which were student-written.
Directed by senior Ally Zonsius, the psychological drama/comedy entitled ‘The Swimmer? was wickedly funny, well-acted and witty. From the homeless drunk played by Nicholas Shufflin to the overbearing sports mom portrayed by Sarah Popa, the characters were an absolute scream.
Also worthy of note was the romantic musical ‘Ella’s,? written and directed by senior Darren Johnston. The singing was moving and powerful. Old standards like ‘It had to be you? and ‘Just in time? really set the mood.
Good job to all.
