A 10 percent local match will be required for a grant received by the Orion Township Fire Department from the US Department of Homeland Security.
The township will contribute $20,000 from the fire capital improvement fund for the $180,000 grant.
Orion Fire Chief Jeff Key said the money will be used to replace the department’s self-contained breathing apparatus and pass devices.
