A 35-year-old Orion Township resident appeared in court last week for allegedly raping a 19-year-old Clarkston woman near the DTE Energy Music Theatre Friday, May 28.
Gregory H. Combs was arraigned that weekend, with bond set at a full $500,000. He then faced a June 4 preliminary exam before 52-2 Judge Michael Batchik. Information from that appearance was not immediately available Monday.
According to Oakland County Sheriff Department reports, the woman was attending the Eddie Money concert with friends but decided to get a different ride home. After jumping a fence and walking toward Sashabaw Road to meet the ride, she was allegedly jumped by Combs.
A deputy patrolling the area saw the couple off the side of Pine Knob Road appearing to be engaged in sexual intercourse, reports said, and the woman reported the rape.
Combs allegedly gave false identification at first, claimed the woman flirted with him but denied having intercourse.
The woman was found to have a bloody nose and scratches on her neck.
