Over 800 homesmay be coming to Oakland Township

So far Moceri has had only a preliminary hearing, but if its proposed development Harvest Corners is approved, it would bring over 800 new dwelling units to Oakland Township.
Harvest corners is to be located along Lake George, between Clarkston and Stoney Creek roads.
Oakland Township Manager Jim Creech said children living in the development would be attending Lake Orion Schools.
‘They’ve only had one hearing on their conceptual plan, on Oct. 13,? Creech said. ‘But I would think 700-800 homes would have a big impact on Lake Orion Schools.?
Harvest Corners is a multi-generational housing development that would include five major subdivisions and four smaller areas with townhomes and loft units.
Besides housing, the development also proposes 19,500 square feet of retail space (with six residential lofts above the retail), including a 7,500 square foot general store and two other retail areas having 6,000 square feet each.
Also in the plan is a senior assisted living facility with 40 residential suites; a preschool for 60 students, and open space for future recreation, cultural and educational use.
On the 700 acres of property, developer Dominic Moceri of Auburn Hills proposes 543 single family homes, 152 condominiums, 105 townhomes, 72 stacked-flat condos, and six lofts, for a total of 878 dwelling units.
Moceri said 60 percent of the total area will be open space, and the setting will preserve the ‘rural charm of Oakland Township,? with no significant increase in traffic or infrastructure demanded over the property’s current zoning.
