Oxford AD to retire Aug. 1

Patrick Ball has announced his retirement from Oxford Community Schools effective August 1.
Pat has served as Athletic Director for the past 11 years and has led the program as it has grown in terms of teams, and increased opportunities for student athletes.
This past year, Pat was recognized at the State MHSAA Conference as Regional Athletic Director of the Year.
Under Pat’s leadership, Oxford has currently applied for and advanced in the attainment process of the State Exemplary Athletic Program.
During his tenure Oxford has added the sports of Hockey, Skiing, Bowling, Boys and Girls Swimming and Lacrosse.
In addition, Pat started the innovative Captains Club comprised of student athletes who serve as positive role models and mentors.
Pat was also instrumental in the elimination of pay-to-play at Oxford which has been helpful in providing additional opportunities for students.
In talking with his family, Pat has decided that this is the time to leave Oxford Athletics and consider other opportunities in the sports field.
