Oxford outswam by Rochester

The Oxford Boys Swim & Dive team’s record went to 1-3 after a close and exciting dual meet against Rochester High. Unfortunately, the Wildcats took a loss with a 92-91 score.
‘So many improved times and so many positives about this meet,? said Head Coach Jackie Rank. ‘We are going to focus on the positives and learn from the negatives going into the second half of our season.?
In the 200 Medley Relay: Oxford’s A Relay of Stresky, Vega, Terry, and Grove took first with a time of 1:48.46. Oxford’s C Relay of Saxon, Stresky, Sabo, and Scribner came in third place. 200 Freestyle: Jake Tasch came in third’with a personal best time of 2:02.17. Trenton Sabo finished in fifth’place. 200 Individual Medley: Armando Vega came in second’with a personal best time of 2:18.35. Garrett Warren took 4th’with a personal best time of 2:25.60.
‘In the 50 Freestyle: Cheyne Stresky finished in first with a state-qualifying and personal best time of 22.44. Chad Scribner came in fourth’place. Diving: Jared Tasch took first with a score of 241.80. Brandon Barrows came in third’place. 100 Butterfly: Sean Terry came in first with a season-best time of 58.35. Jonah Grove and Tyler Stresky came in third’and fifth’place respectively. 100 Freestyle: Chad Scribner took second’with a time of 52.42. Trenton Sabo finished in fifth place.
‘In the 500 Freestyle: Cheyne Stresky finished in first with a season best time of 4:59.72. Jake Tasch came in fifth’place. 200 Freestyle Relay: Oxford’s A Relay of Vega, Tasch, Scribner, and Tasch took third’place with a time of 1:39.69. 100 Backstroke: Sean Terry took first with a time of 1:05.65. Garrett Warren and Lucas Sereno rounded out the top three. 100 Breaststroke: Armando Vega came in first with a time of 1:13.29. Jonah Grove finished in third’place and in the 400 Freestyle Relay: Oxford’s A Relay of Scribner, Tasch, Terry, and Stresky came in first with a time of 3:30.50.
Oxford will host the Farmington/Harrison Phoenix (athletes from both Farmington High School and Harrison High School) at 6 p.m. at OHS natatorium. This will also be senior night and we will honor Chance LeBlanc, Chad Scribner, Cheyne Stresky, and Jared Tasch.
