The Lake Orion Village Parks and Recreation Department will be able to accept donations through the Partners of Parks fund.
The fund will be separate from the village’s general fund, to allow donors to make tax-exempt contributions to the village, and ensure funds are used for the parks.
LO Council member Michael Toth, also a member of the parks advisory committee, said they would prefer people donate generally and allow the village to determine the best use, although they can designate a desired use for their funds if they wish.
‘The committee’s goal is to have a catalog people can chose from,? he said.
